My grandmother is born and grew up on a little island not far from Ålesund, called Godøya. Recently my uncle and his family have been renovating an old house that has been in the family for a long, long time and I have also been spending some time there on occasion. Godøya is situated right out by the Norwegian west-coast and is a beautiful place with some small mountains, beautiful beaches and some heavy weather.

I got out to Alnes last Saturday and walked along the beach, taking some photos of the elements, but quite heavy rain and strong winds did make the job a bit tricky. With the western wind coming straight in from the North Sea it can get pretty rough out there, but it does make for some nice photos.
